Buffalo Valley Residence
Moran, Wyoming
Summer 2026 Construction
Set near the Buffalo Fork River in Moran, Wyoming, this home was designed in close response to the landscape and the realities of building within it. Steep slopes, wetlands, water movement, and long mountain views all became active participants in shaping the architecture.
Rather than imposing a singular object onto the site, the design works to settle into the terrain through a series of connected volumes that step carefully with the land. The home balances openness and gathering with quieter moments of retreat, framing views toward the Tetons while remaining grounded in the immediate experience of the river valley.
Throughout the process, collaboration with civil, structural, environmental, and mechanical consultants played a central role in refining how the home meets the ground. Site placement, grading, drainage, and long-term resilience became just as important as form and material.
The result is a home shaped not only by aesthetics, but by careful listening — to the site, to the climate, and to the people who will live there.
